Employee Award

TOS EMPLOYEE AWARD TEACHING (Pre-Primary, Primary and Middle) NON-TEACHING and SERVICE STAFF– 2010-11

Dear TOS team members,
This process is another attempt to enroll the team in the final outcome. The awards , then, are not individual’s perception but a collective assessment of overall performance.

Volunteers ( Monica Desai, Lakshmi Mani, Indumathi, Pooja Raja, Deaver, Aabha Gupta) came forward to work on the process of selection and outlined the criteria. It is not done keeping in mind any one candidate but trusting the team to choose the “most suitable” one.

There is no one perfect method of selecting the “right” candidate. IT IS ALSO NOT POSSIBLE TO INCLUDE ALL PARAMETERS TO SELECT AN IDEAL CANDIDATE.

This comes from the last year closure meet that all employees need feedback, recognition, acknowledgement in some concrete, visible form that distinguishes the extra ordinary from the ordinary.  While the certificate is a feather in the CV, money is an added incentive. Hence the cash component.

Each domain has a unique core competence for which the member is primarily employed and that becomes the core component for the selection. However soft skills and other special abilities add flesh to the plate. Hence you will find “ look fors” including the above.
All Staff vote for their candidate in all five categories.  This award is for the current year performance.  You are requested not to discuss your choice of candidate with others. We prefer you keep your choice confidential. You can vote for yourself too. Those who are absent on this day can send in an SMS vote to any of the members of the election committee.

BAUP is specific and so far used as feedback tool for teaching deliveries.  It is also a feedback system from your reporting authority based largely on their observations spanning a term or two. Hence this team has decided not to use that as primary yard stick for selection. It will be used , for teaching staff, if there is a tie.

The date of election is 19th March. Time -12 noon to 1.00pm. Location –Atrium.  List of candidates in each domain will be displayed in Atrium and also pinned in the notice book. If you observe any discrepancy regarding the domain, please let any one of us know so you can be put in appropriate group.

Teacher performance, in traditional sense is mostly measured by students ‘ achievement in terms of their marks. Here the shift is on the process with the strong belief that when the approach is correct, the arrival can’t be wrong.

We are giving you this document before time so you can read and cast your vote to the suitable candidate.
