October Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Welcome once again to the October edition of our newsletter. The last two months were filled with numerous activities for children. Each of them was carefully planned, so that we could make each moment an enjoyable experience for the children. We begin, by giving a brief description of each activity

  1. Read to me – Parents were invited to our space to narrate stories to the children. Mr. Patel wore the Ganesha mask and entered the class. Children gathered around him and asked? Why are you wearing elephant mask? What is the reason behind it? . He smiled and narrated the particular episode in Lord Ganesha life. They listened to it with apt attention. Mrs. Mehta and Mrs. Nebhrajani also shared some popular stories and the children asked questions and interacted with them.
  2. Visit to our neighborhood – We took the children to nearby places. They visited the tailor shop, fabrication center, vegetable vendor and a cycle shop. We saw the people in action. They interacted with the children, answered their questions. In the cycle shop, one child asked “what are you doing with the tyre? Why are you pouring water in it?   The shopkeeper explained to them the process and told that he was doing it to check the holes in the tyre. In the vegetable market, the children were fascinated with the weighing machine and saw vegetables being weighed on them using different weights for example – 1kg, half a kg etc.
  3. Rhyme sharing – The children thoroughly enjoyed singing rhymes related to community helpers. They sang with a lot of joy, happiness and in rhythm.
  4. Chefs at work – We made sprout bhel. We showed the ingredients and actually demonstrated the making of sprout bhel. The children touched, tasted and smelled the ingredients. They observed process, ate the bhel and shared their experiences with the teachers.
  5. The children also actively participated in both the events that is - garba and diwali craft making activity. In Garba, they were dressed in their best outfits and danced to popular film music. In the diwali craft making activity, the children made toran, greeting cards with rangoli design on it and painted the diyas. They participated with full enthusiasm and proudly exhibited their work to everyone.
  6. The session ended with a diwali party wherein the children shared their food with each other. They listened to stories and shared their holiday plans with each other.
