Sports Program

Dear Parents,

Continuing our vision of bringing’ Locally Rooted Globally Competent’ education to our children, Physical Education and Sports is an area we want to re-examine . To this effect The Orchid School is exploring the possibility to introduce a unique sports program from the next academic year for Jr.Kg to Class V in collaboration with SPARK, USA through their India-partner LEAPSTART.

Given the strong benefit to your child’s health and academics, we want to involve your child in evaluating a new Physical Education and Sports Program.  During the PE and Sports period, in a variety of innovative activities . LEAPSTART  have  a defined curriculum that their trainers will deliver for the  time period mentioned below.

The pilot program will commence from 2^nd January 2012 and end on 10^th February 2012. You are requested to read the write up to seek a broad view on LEAPSTART.

How it works?

Demonstrations and observations are planned for the PTA and for all parents from Nursery to Std IV . You will be invited for a demonstration to see the sessions in its true essence. After experiencing it for yourself , you will be asked to fill in a feedback form and give your consent. If a majority of the parent community agree then we will sign an MOU with the Leapstart to hire their services from March 2012- March2013. It is a full-fledged ten months program.

During this time, your child will bring home certain home play sheets for you to jointly work with at home.  Leapstart will do one assessment of various skills that are taught and give you a report at the end of the six weeks period.  Our collective goal is to get your child physically more active and possibly bring out latent talents in a variety of sports.

Implications

This is a high end intense program which will incur a nominal monetary implication for both the school and the parents . The details of the same will be shared during the demonstration.

The dates for the demonstration and observation sessions will be indicated to you.
